Lake Region Energy Services (LRES) is a subsidiary of Lake Region Electric Cooperative (LREC), headquartered in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. LRES provides natural gas service to Parkers Prairie, Deer Creek, Miltona, Dent, and the surrounding communities.
Recognizing natural gas as one of the nation’s most affordable and clean-burning energy sources, LRES was established to bring reliable natural gas service to the region through a partnership with Greater Minnesota Gas (GMG). Greater Minnesota Transmission provides the intrastate pipeline that delivers natural gas into the area, while LRES owns, operates, and maintains the local distribution system serving customers.
Construction of the natural gas distribution system began in 2017, with service first expanding into Parkers Prairie and Deer Creek. In 2018, the distribution network grew to include Miltona and Dent, extending the benefits of natural gas to additional homes, farms, and businesses.
Today, LRES provides dependable natural gas service for residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial customers. As a subsidiary of LREC, LRES benefits from the cooperative’s experienced operations, customer service, and administrative support, allowing it to deliver reliable service while continuing to invest in the communities it serves.
